Popular Choices

Why Customers Buy Dashcams
Video Evidence While Driving
A dashcam can record what happens in front of or behind your vehicle while driving. This can be helpful for accidents, traffic incidents, hit-and-runs, road rage situations, or unexpected events.
Parking Mode Protection
Dashcams can continue monitoring while the vehicle is parked, depending on the dashcam model, wiring method, settings, and vehicle battery condition.
Parking mode can help record impact events or motion events while the vehicle is off, but recording time is not unlimited.
Peace of Mind
Many customers install dashcams because they want added confidence while driving, parking, or leaving their vehicle unattended.

Front and Rear Dashcam Installation
We install front-only and front/rear dashcam systems.
For front/rear systems, the front camera is usually mounted near the windshield area, and the rear camera wiring is routed cleanly toward the back of the vehicle. Our goal is to keep the installation neat, secure, and as hidden as possible.
Wiring Options
Standard Hardwire Installation
A hardwire installation connects the dashcam to the vehicle’s fuse area so it can receive power more cleanly than using a loose cigarette-lighter cable.
Hardwiring is commonly used for a cleaner look and for dashcams with parking mode features.
OBD Power Option
Some vehicles and dashcam setups require an OBD power connection for us to install which will add an additional cost for the cable. We can explain which option makes the most sense depending on your vehicle and dashcam model. If you don't want parking mode, you don't need either the hardwire kit nor the OBD cable.
Important Things to Know
Dashcam recording time depends on several factors, including:
-
Memory card size
-
Video resolution
-
Number of cameras
-
Driving time
-
Parking mode settings
-
Impact/motion detection settings
-
Vehicle battery condition
A larger memory card usually allows more recording storage, but all dashcams eventually loop over older footage when the card becomes full.
Dashcam Life Expectancy
Dashcams are electronic devices that are exposed to heat, sunlight, vibration, and daily use. Because of this, they do not last forever.
A typical dashcam may last around 3–5 years, depending on the brand, model, build quality, usage, parking mode settings, and heat exposure. Higher-quality dashcams may last longer, while lower-cost models may have a shorter lifespan.
Memory Card Life Expectancy
The memory card could also wear out because it is constantly recording, deleting, and rewriting video files. A dashcam memory card may need to be replaced after a couple of years, depending on usage and card quality. For best results, we recommend using a high-endurance microSD card made for dashcam or security camera recording. High-endurance cards often last longer than the dashcam itself.
Signs a Dashcam or Memory Card May Need Attention
Customers should check their dashcam regularly. Warning signs may include:
-
The dashcam stops recording
-
Missing footage
-
Error messages
-
The app does not connect properly
-
The dashcam keeps restarting
-
The memory card fails or needs formatting often
-
Video files are corrupted or unreadable
Regular Checking Is Important
A dashcam should not be installed and forgotten forever. We recommend customers check their dashcam from time to time to make sure it is recording properly, the date and time are correct, and the memory card is working.
This is especially important before relying on the dashcam for accident footage or parking incident footage.
Parking Mode Is Not Unlimited
Parking mode is useful, but it does not mean the dashcam records forever.
Most setups are designed to protect the vehicle battery by shutting off at a certain voltage or after a certain time. Recording time may vary depending on the dashcam, battery condition, settings, and how often events are detected.
Customer-Supplied Dashcams
We can install customer-supplied dashcams, but the product itself is not covered by our warranty. If the dashcam, memory card, app, firmware, or manufacturer software has an issue, the customer may need to contact the seller or manufacturer.
Our service focuses on installation workmanship, not product warranty for customer-supplied devices.
What to Expect After Installation
After installation, we can help explain basic operation, recording behavior, memory card use, and what to check on your dashcam app or screen.
Customers should periodically check that the dashcam is recording properly and that the memory card is functioning. Dashcams are electronic devices, so regular checking is important.
Not Sure Which Dashcam to Choose?
That is completely okay. We welcome questions from customers who are still researching. We can explain front-only vs front/rear setups, parking mode, memory cards, hardwiring, OBD power, and other details so you can choose the option that fits your needs.
